hi luvrs!

it's been a horrifyingly long time since i've blogged...

there's not enough time in the world to update everything that's happened...

so.. highlights?

-as most of you knew, i had moved to California to live with my boyfriend, Travis (aka "Bazinga Baby").
-couldn't stand my roommate
-lost my car :(
-got a job as a Leasing Consultant at the Community i lived at, Parkwood, in Irvine, CA. The job only lasted a few months because it was a summer position... but i liked it, leased a lot of apartments, made some good money, met some good people, bought some wicked cute work clothes, made some friends...
-made some HUGE strides with my etsy shop, which i changed the name of, from Twitterpated Pretty to Sara McCobb Hubbell Designs

-developed a beloved character, lil miss, whom i've taken through some pretty rough times, & have been really luving drawing her, painting her & sharing her woes with the world.

-went back to CT in August for Trav's cousins wedding (which was actually in Boston). The wedding was BEAUTIFUL & we had a great time!
-turned 25.... ::indifferent::
-got a Red Bull fridge, & a beautiful patio set from a friend, who, sadly, moved to NorCal soon after we started hanging out more :(

the biggest change of all...

*we got on the road again, yesterday, Thursday, December 15th, with all of our shit (well, most of it... 675lbs worth, to be exact, was on a pallet, shipped) on our way moving BACK to CT*

So, now i'm in a really crappy motel room in Santa Rosa, NM, about to have a "house salad" from a rando pizza place, the only one that would deliver, which "doesn't have menus"... -umm?-... & watch Anchorman for the millionth time, while Trav eats the most amazing looking pizza that i can't have bc it'll gimme a tummy ache all day tomorrow.

::dammit trav, please stop making those fucking "yummy noises"!::

the biggest, most important thing, at the moment, is that i'm on InstaGram (same name, Spankyluvsit) updating BEAUTIFUL photos & i'm also TWEETING the WHOLE trip (@Spankyluvsit).

(((i hate when i start a post, get caught up in something else, then remember it weeks later, get mad at myself for not posting more often, & then go through the already written part to change things that make no sense, attempt to remember what else i was saying, & get back into it. so... here is goooes)))

I'm so obsessed with any sort of whimsical stories & i can't explain how stoked i get when i hear about new projects of old favorites.

I was SO sad that Beastly wasn't as good as i'd hoped. (it was... "eh." when it should have been "YAY!" - grr.)

I still have to go see Red Riding Hood (which i REALLLY wanted to see...)

a while ago i heard about not only one, but TWO new Snow White movies (which secretly pisses me off, bc i hate when two things that are the SAME, come out at the same time... it's like an automatic competition & it makes me sad, but o well...)

Snow White & the Huntsman

There isn't much information out yet, but i think K. Stewart will be an interesting Snow White.

She def looks like her, but, depending on how the movie is going to go, the attitude will hafta be different from the traditional thought of Snow White. I can see this working out REALLY well, if it's done right.
As much as it pains me to say so, (& you all know how obsessed i am with Alice in Wonderland & Tim Burton), i don't think that his A-in-W flick turned out the way that i wanted it to. The vibe was just a bit too dark, which i hope does drag down this film.

Hey, K. Stew, haven't you learned by now that you're not supposed to eat the forbidden fruit? But, then again, i guess it works for you. Who am i to tell you to change it up, when you're the one that always lands the hottie in the end.

Hm.. i think i'm craving an apple... An apple a day gets a Happily Ever After with a Prince (or.. vampire)

The Brothers Grimm: Snow White

directed by Tarsem Singh

Starring: Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer, Nathan Lane

I don't know much about this one, either, but the imdb.com plot says it's "a dark twist", so maybe this will be the creepier of the two flicks.
Snow White, in this version, is Lily Collins (Phil Collins daughter who has been in a few things, but i don't recognize her, other than a short stint on 90210). She's cute, def, but i'll be more partial to K. Stew from the gate. (can't help but be biased, luvs me some K. Stew, in all her awkward glory).

I also luvs me some Nathan Lane & i've always been a fan of Julia Roberts (more than Charlize, sorry CT).

I've never seen any of the films directed by Tarsem Singh, & this is listed as Rupert Sanders' first project, so, i guess it's a draw!
We'll have to see what else comes out to know which one will be in the front running.

1. i'm very excited because my lil sis is coming to visit me tomorrow. i haven't seen her since January & she's never been to Cali! Whooop!

2. i went to a very awesome thing, the opening night gala event for the LA Antique Show in Santa Monica where there was an exhibit from the Reform Gallery in LA which has a large (or.. the largest?) collection of Paul McCobb (my grandfather)'s furniture. He was a mid century furniture designer & my Mothers Daddy!

3. i've read the first four books of the Blue Bloods series. I have book number 5, which i'm trying to hold off on, so i can read it before number 6 comes out, which i believe will be in October. i've also read a few more books by Ellen Hopkins; Impulse, Identical (fav) & i'm now reading Tricks.

one more thing i'll say super fast: i read in Us Weekly that ABC is considering sending General Hospital to the morgue to lie with Days of Our Lives & All My Children, to make room for a BOGUS talk show with Katie Kuric. To this, my Mom (& only other known avid GH fan) said "I hope that Sonny doesn't go rogue" & i said "if they cancel my stories, i'll go fucking ROGUE".

So, let it be known, i will NOT be happy if is taken away from me. juuuust say'n...

home visit, unexpected shows & creepy hot flicks.

i went back to CT for almost 3 weeks, visited family, friends, my pupper nugget, all the usual suspects & i had a good time.

there was SO MUCH DAMN SNOW which i do NOT miss, living in Cali, but it was really good to see my peeps.

i had some super fun times w/ JenBunny, GiaPet, AmeCakes & my other bitties.

I took approx. 5 billion photos & videos of my doggie which i hope to upload... at some point...

& spent loads of time with my wonderful family.

since i've been back, there's some other things i want to talk about, that aren't as deep as things i've posted about in the recent months. (When i have the time... & energy...)

Pauly-D Obsession:

i hafta post this, bc i'm loling my ass off over it...

Medium vs. Real Housewives:

since it's start, i have loved the show Medium (ok, that's a lie, when it was first airing, i thought i was going to be avoiding it at all costs, bc it looked like something that was going to scare the shit out of me, but my Ma watched it & i started watching early into the first season). A few seasons ago, Kelsey Grammer appeared on the show as, ehem, Satan... which was also the first time that i realized he was the Executive Producer of the show. Then, of course, like any red blooded 24 year old chickie, I've learned from Bravo's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills that Camille Grammer was behind a lot of the creation of the show.
THEN, on an extremely disturbing episode of RHWoBH, we meet the REAL Allison Dubois (the main character on Medium, for those of you that don't know what the hell i'm talking about!) & god damn, she was AWFUL!

(Lemme also just shout out that i'm SO in luv with Lisa Vanderpump, i think she's possibly, my fav housewife OF ALL TIME!!! woo hoo Lisaaa!!!)

My question: Everyone that watches Real H.Wives of BH, or current celebrity gossip, knows about how shitty-face Kelsey Grammer totes fucked over the hot-ass Camille after 13 years of marriage, which basically made her internally break down during the whole season. - BUT, since the show Medium was a "pet project" of the couple, is their recent blow up divorce the reason behind the sudden, out of NO WHERE end to one of MY FAV SHOWS?!!? if so... i'm sorry Fraiser, as much as i may enjoy listening to you play the villainous Side-Show Bob on The Simpsons, & as much as your fucked up life choices may add some drama to one of my fav shows, i do NOT appreciate you causing a rift in my TiVo lineup! WTF?!!?

(PS: Spencer Grammer, i'm sorry your Dad fucked up... i still luv you & i still look forward to seeing your adorable face on Greek every Monday!)

Life Unexpected:

I was absolutely shocked when, toward the end of one of my regular shows, the screen went black & "Two Years Later" popped up on the screen... WHAA?! Then, after a quick, unexplained wrap up, Life Unexpected ENDED... rather... ehem... Unexpectedly?!?!
I mean... i guess i'm happy with where they chose to send the characters... but... it was a total cop out. It was LITERALLY like they had a regular show episode planned, then, funding was pulled? Ratings weren't great? Kerr Smith signed on to be in Dawson's Creek the movie? & all of a sudden, "Hey... guys... can you just, wrap it up in the last 5 mins? we're done with this one..."
i'm totes disappointed.

Beastly:

I mean... do i even need to explain why i want to see this? Anyone who has spent 5 mins on this blog probably is WELL AWARE of my enormous attraction to anything funky, add an OLSEN to that & we are SO in business.

MK looks so fucking badass, it's ridiculous. It's supposed to be out in March & i cannot wait.

Black Swan:

Ya, duh i saw Black Swan, helloooo! I'll admit, parts of it freaked me THE FUCK OUT, but, i can't stop thinking about this movie & i really wanna see it again. Natalie Portman is a god damn UH-MAZING actress & i'm SOOOO stoked she won the Golden Globe & i can't wait to watch her (knock on wood) win her OSCAR!!! The film is nominated for best film & Darren Aronofsky is nommed for best director. i hope it's a sweep for the flick. i can't wait for it to be on DVD so i can watch it over & over! haha
Mila, i'm sorry you didn't win supporting actress! :( no Oscar nom for Mila is poopy. She should get a special award for chick i'd likely go super gay for. i mean, hello? i'm about as boy crazed as they come, but Mila is one crazy hot mama, fo' sho!
PS: on a terrifying side note, the night i saw the movie, i came home, was a little bugged out, wanted to distract myself, was doing my toe nails & all of a sudden, my toenail cracks & starts to bleed... next morning, i come out of the shower with a massive scratch on my shoulder blade... WHAAAAAA?!?!?!?!

Adam Sandler star:

I'd like to also say Congrats to Adam Sandler, who was given his Hollywood Walk of Fame star today. I was honestly surprised, bc i thought he would have gotten one a long ass time ago.

LA Football:

Apparently, they're building "Farmer's Field" in Los Angeles. an arena that will host.... well, honestly, all i really heard anyone definitively say was "fights", which i think was more of just a shout out to "Oscar" (De La Hoya?) who was apparently in the audience of the Press Statement? I don't know.. the whole thing was weird...
I mean, they talked about the reason behind the name, the high tech crap, this that, the other thing, how it will give reason to open a shit ton of hotels in downtown LA... uh... then, there was some stock footage of the... Olympics? which was odd... then, at the last moment of the news story, they mentioned a fleeting thought about "Oh ya... we'll prob end up getting a football team, at some point"... that'd be good, otherwise, you're gunna have to book some pretty badass concerts to fill your pricey hotels...
PREDICTION: Bazinga, my sports Guru who has taught me like almost everything that i know about sports (almost, i knew a lot before) thinks that maybe the Jacksonville Jaguars will move. (UNOFFICIAL PREDICTION - he said it as a possible thought, not any ink on paper prediction).

Blue Bloods:

i'm reading a new series of books that are actually WAY better than i thought they'd be.

I don't know if they're already planning to make a TV show or a movie(s) about this series, but, i honestly first thought of MK Olsen for the character of Schuyler (which i thought was more like shoo-ler until my Ma told me it was Sky-ler, & that Sky-ler was actually a family name of ours, sweet!) I guess i was wrong with my initial thoughts, bc it wasn't until i was mostly into the first book that i read she had blue black hair...? haha i was picturing a different look.
Also, i picture Jack Force to be played by Landon Liboiron... i dunno, i just see it. I'm thinking about my other predictions, but i think it could be a fun new game for me to play, to see if i can predict who would play characters in the movie. haha. i'd need help from others tho, tell me if you hear about a new movie being made that's not cast yet. Oooh, i can ask Mattman about what he knows, too. he's in the biz, he could let me know.

Ok. i think i've written WAY too much for this one post. i seem to keep going...

it feels good to be back, in a way. we'll see if i (fingers crossed, i hope i do) keep it up.

last years goals, book worm exchange, & a few other things

The names have been drawn for the 2010 (which i now realize should have been called 2011) blogger book worm 'ganza gift exchange.

last year, JenBunny posted a bunch of other bloggers goals on her blog. She posted mine, too!
here they are:

1. allow myself time to expand on my skills & creativity
2. live a cleaner life & purge all the clutter
3. maintain my weight
4. be presentable (stop looking like a slob)
5. take my blog to another level

i went back & took a look to see if i held up my word to myself.
at first look, i was surprised that i had been so.... vague? but, thinking about it, i think that i did... most?

1. i have def expanded my skills & creativity. this year i realized that i have many other creative skills than i thought. my etsy shop, twitterpated pretty went from being a "sometimes" hobby, to an everyday obsession that pulled in some pretty good cash!

2. Since i moved from CT to CA, i had to pack all my things into my car, sooo... i'd DEF say that i purged the initial clutter... but... i seem to have a really bad habit of accumulating more. I will make a point to continue with this goal & make sure my new home doesn't end up as cluttered as my old room did. [this will def mean i have to do some "spring" cleaning already!]

3. This one i'll give myself a pat on the back for. This time last year i had dropped about 30lbs from my start weight & was getting closer to my goal weight. In the first few months of 2010 i lost the rest of the weight i wanted to lose & have maintained it! I've lost over 50lbs since my initial start & have been successfully steady at my current weight for over 8 months now! hoooorah!

4. i'm not sure if i've reached this goal. i have a nicer wardrobe, but, most of the time, since i don't have a job, i spend at home, usually in pjs or shorts & a tank. i don't tend to put makeup on if im not going out & my hair, especially since cutting it short, is usually just in a pony tail... i guess i'd say that at home, or the grocery store, or to get the mail... ya, i'm still a slob. Going out, on the rare occasion, i dress up NIIIICE! hahaha

5. well, i took it to another level, just not one that was higher than the last years level. The blog world has gotten away from me in the 2nd half of this year, well, more like the last 3/4 of this year. so, i guess.... for all intents & purposes... i failed this goal... :(

i DID reach my reading goal. i read 16 books this year, which is the most, in one year, i've ever read. that, to me, is awesome, & i'm suuuuper proud of myself. :)

i fly to CT tomorrow. i'm so stoked. Bazinga isnt coming with me, so i'm sad about that, but i can't wait to see my fam & friends!!!

i'm so embarrassed...

my car was repossessed...

we got so behind a few months ago when bazinga got sick, then roomie was robbed & i had to cover his 'scripts & part of her rent & my bills got put to the back burner.
i couldn't make payments on time & they took my car.

i can't believe it.

sometimes i feel like i can barely breath.

i luv it here & i luv the possibilities that this home has, but what else can possibly happen?

i'm going home for 2 weeks. i leave Jan 3rd. I just hope, hope, hope that i can come back with a rejuvenated spirit & can pick myself up, brush myself off, & make this life work.

i don't need bright, shiny things, i just want a bright, shiny happiness to fill our little home.

just, please, let's just let this be rock bottom. my hope can't take much more.

silver lining: i can't wait to see my family, my friends &, maybe even most of all, that dog, little Holly GoLightly pup whom i've missed so much i can't take it.

I thought about doing this last year, but i just didn't get around to it....

So, this year, even though it's a bit late, i decided to give it a whirl, even if we only get a few people, maybe we can try again next year, or make it a bi-tri-yearly thing!

I'm happy to announce that i reached my reading goal for the year [12 books] & once i'm done the one i'm on now, i'll have reached my "expert goal" of 15 books in a year!!!

My vision:

a "secret santa" of sorts, where everyone sends their favourite book to the person chosen for them.
i thought that this could be a great way to open someones mind to your literary "comfort food".

we're all thinking about what we are thankful for.

i've become so thankful for my family, especially my mom. her & i have built up such a different, strong relationship since i moved here & i miss her so much.

i'm thankful that she wrote this blog post about me. heehee. she's cute.

&, even though it doesn't really tie into this post, like, at all, these photos just crack me up. (My mommy is the itty bitt!)

My Grandfather, the dapper gentleman in the back, is Paul McCobb, famous furniture designer from the 1950's (even though the Wiki has NOTHING about his wife & children... rude). The other doode is my mom's half brosi, Paul Jr. & the gorg-a-saurus is my Grandma, Molly. I, unfortunately, never got to meet Paul, since he passed when my mother was only 9, & I don't really remember Molly, since she passed when I was about 2.

I luv it when she tells me stories, like the time she wanted to watch The Wizard of Oz, even though she was realllly scared of the flying monkeys, & she'd run down the mirrored hallway from her parents room to the living room, basically just to tell her mom that she was scared, get in trouble, & RUN back to the room to keep watching, all to turn around & do it again. I don't know why, but i have a vivid idea, in my head, about what this whole saga looked like. i'm giggling just thinking about it.
I like the story about how she'd climb up the built in shelves to get things that she wasn't supposed to have & how 1/4 of her eye is green, while the other 3/4 is blue, because she sprayed some cleaner in her eye when she was little & didn't tell bc she didn't want to get yelled at.

Since i've been living in Cali, i've been talking to Ma basically every day, at least once. She has, on a few occasions, to her dismay sometimes, been my talking buddy while i wonder around the grocery store asking "what should i make for dinner" or "where are olives" (yes, i asked her where the olives were in the grocery store on the other side of the states, where she's never been, were). We've talked about how our lives have turned into a weird parallel of each other, both ending up as the "woman of the house" living with a [sometimes] "Grumpy Spouse" (moms words) & an "Irresponsible 19-year-old". it's def weird that we are both the one cleaning up around the house, cooking dinner, being housewives while looking for jobs, making art, blogging, & having our etsy shops.

i miss my mom so much.

i hate that it took a 3,000 mile distance to make us closer, but i'm glad that we are.

i need to go home for a visit.

i need a mom hug.

everyone go & read my moms blog. she's just getting back into it. her & my sister & dad all moved about a month after i did (but they moved one town over, not three time zones..) & she's been trying to get their new apartment in order, so she, like me, is just getting back into the blog-o-sphere.

so, i'm hoping that my mom will be Skyping me in, so i can "pseudo"-sit at the Thanksgiving Dinner Table.

i hope that she's thankful that i wrote this.

this Thanksgiving, i'm thankful for my family, whom i love & miss & hope i can see for Christmas, & i'm so very thankful of the relationship that i have with my mommy.

i can't even think about how much i am thankful for my puppy, Holly. Honestly, just thinking about her at all makes me burst into tears because i miss her so much.

i've been going through [inevitable] long hair withdrawal ever since i cut my long locks off in exchange for a short "sassy" bob-like cut.
not to mention bazinga isn't a fan of my short hair :(

I've been trying to get extensions, but they are HELLA expensive, even though Roomies [ex] friend was going to hook me up for about 1/3 of the cost, but never did it & now she's out of our lives [hopefully for good].
doesn't it suck when you think someone is pretty kool, then you find out they are full of shit & really just a virus? ugh. i'm so sick of that.
So, knowing that it would be a loooong time before i'd ever be able to afford real extensions... so long that my hair would probably be super long before i had half the money, i tried to find a nice clip in pieces. Even those can run you like $100. So i started searching on etsy.

I was hoping that i'd be able to find someone who would be willing to exchange a hair piece for something from my shop. No one wanted to do that... :(

Then i found Dawn. She has an etsy shop & she makes clip in hair pieces. I messaged her & asked about an exchange. She said YES!

I made her a custom dream catcher & she made me a custom hair piece!!!

cute, eh?!

now i just need to figure out a way to make it work in more than just this one hair style!

I'm SOOOO thankful to Dawn for trading with me. I am also very happy that i thought to put the idea out there!!!

Maybe i won't be able to sell as many things as i want to, but maybe, just maybe, i can trade some more things.

I need to find odd jobs or something.
I need to go home for Christmas & it's INSANE how pricey it would be for us to go.
I'd need a good, $1,300 minimum to make it work. That's before even thinking about buying any gifts!

I've been hoping to sell my items on my etsy shop, Twitterpated Pretty, my prints on Red Bubble, i'm even trying to get my sister to help me sell my books & some other things that i left back in CT to try to make some extra dough.

on that note:
Has anyone ever been a mystery shopper? I don't know how it works, but i know it's like, a thing.

JenBunny mentioned that there are blogs that will pay you to do product reviews. How do i get into that?

If anyone knows of any places to find freelance work, or venues to sell hand made work, or prints of my art, please let me know.
Also, if anyone wants to HIRE me for some freelance design work, or writing work, please let me know. I'm desperately trying to earn enough moolah to fly home to see my family & friends for christmas.

a crazy damn week...

to say that things have been crazy would be putting it HELLA lightly...

just for my sanity, or what's left of it, left's start with Halloween & progress quickly, so i don't dwell...

Oct. 31st:

I woke up, hung out in the bedroom with Bazinga for a little while, watching TV, took a shower & was getting ready to paint him up like a zombie for work. He went into the shower & i went into the kitchen to find that it had FLOODED, yes FLOODED like a motherfucker. Of course, we didn't even end up having time to paint his face like a Zomb [which ended up being a good thing, bc his dumb job canceled the "dress up for work on h.ween" thing, so he woulda looked like a damn fool], but he didn't even have any time to help me deal with the catastrophe. Roomie got out of HER bathroom, saw me standing in a puddle of murky DISGUSTING backed up sink water, complete with food bits, asked me what happened, &, when i said "the fucking sink overflowed", promptly said "oh... damn." & walked into her room, closing the door behind her...

this is when Spanky goes from frantic & annoyed to MEAN RED.

I asked roomie to PLEASE clean the front deck because she'd had people over the last few days & it was a wreck & i didn't want trick or treaters to see that. she said she would, but, of course, she didn't do anything.

Nov. 1st:

Maintenance guy comes again [he'd come an HOUR after i'd called "emergency" maintenance the day before & said that they'd have to come back the next day to deal with the [basically] sewage that had covered our kitchen & seeped through the doorway & under the dining room rug].

he snakes the drain.

I ask Roomie to PLEASE help me clean up the insanly grossified kitchen [seeing as we ALL live here & i can't, for the life of me, understand why it's MY job, & my job only, to clean it]. She, of course, does not...

Nov. 2nd:

Bazinga goes to work early, I wake up & tool around on the compy for a little bit before bothering to wake up Roomie to ask her, once again, to help me with our nasti-rific kitch. She wakes up & wonders, hung over, into the living room, sniffling, asking me if anyone "came into the house last night" while she wasn't home. Uh... no... why? - Well, because, all of her rent money [due Nov 3rd], which she keeps in a highly secure glass pickle jar in her room has been stolen. - awesome.

She has a fit, asks to borrow my phone to make "A call" [aka about 50 calls, to non mobile-to-mobile number which i'll prob get charged for].

She's CLEARLY too distraught to help me with the mess in the kitchen [&, honestly, how DARE i even THINK she'd be able to help me scrub the floor], so i have to do it.

Here i go, on my hands & knees with nothing but paper towels & [thank god] rubber gloves - because the ONE household item we asked Roomie to buy was a goddamn swiffer/mop which she hasn't bought in the 4 months we've lived here [thanks mommy for sending us one after this insanity!] - scrubbing what, basically looks like dried VOM from every surface, crevice, & corner of our kitchen, while waiting for the maintenance guy to come back.

They say they need to put in an industrial fan [SUPER LOUD] for the next day or so to dry up the carpet.

Are you keeping up? Kitchen: flooded, Rent $: stolen, Mess: still there, Roomie: worthless.

Nov. 3rd:

We can't make rent, obvi, so Bazinga & Roomie have to go tell the Leasing Office that we are a bunch of assholes who can't be trusted to not have half the rent jacked from our apartment. They give us until the 10th.

Roomie states that she will work "every possible shift" to make up the cash.

My unemployment check still hasn't come.

I still haven't found a job.

Nov 7th:

I win for the 2nd [ever] time [this season] in Fantasy Football.

Nov 8th:

Roomie tells us she made "pocket change" at work & can't give us anything for rent that night. We're still short, but my unemp check comes. She, somehow, seems to have enough dough to go to the WEED clinic, however & get "too stoned to go to work". She invites friends over.

I make chicken noodle soup.

Nov. 9th:

Roomie has people over... still. They drink almost all of our Soda, make a huge mess in the JSUT cleaned living room [our apartment complex had the rugs cleaned bc of the spill on the carpet. the living room was spotless.] I go to the bank to deposit my unemp check & make sure that, worst case, i'll be able to cover the rest of hers, if need be.

I come home, Roomie is stradeling a guy i've never met, on the deck, & tells me that "there was an accident". One of her friends had attempted to close the blinds in the kitchen [& must have pulled the chord & LET FUCKING GO] & smashed my 3 little glass martini/shot glasses that my friend Steff gave me for my 21st bday.

I want to cry.

I take EVERYTHING of mine from the kitchen & living room & put it in my room or in boxes & put them away.

I realize that there's no way she's going to make enough money that night to cover her ass with rent [& the $50 late fee]. I ask her to talk about "money". I flip out at her, telling her that she can't have this place be a FUCKING hotel [ or "shelter" since we don't see any money from them - "Moocher Shelter"]. She says "don't trip". I'm absolutely trip'n & i wanna smack her for telling me not to. I have another glass of Pinot Grigio.

Roomie & her bffer L go to work. Her guy friends leave.

We have leftover Chicken Noodle soup.

Roomie & L come back saying that "there were too many girls working tonight. we were turned away. L's mom is loaning me the cash. don't trip."- I say "ok", but i mean "i'll kill you".

Nov. 10th:

Bazinga & I go to the bank [after he's back from the dentist where he finds out he has 3 cavities & needs over a thousand dollars - without medi ins - in dental work, asap]. We combine funds to get a money order for the TOTAL rent + late fee due (almost double my share, covering Roomies loss).

We come home. Roomie has her friends STILL here [yes, as in, they haven't left.. in days].

A few hours later, there is a commotion in Roomies bedroom. She's fighting with L. It's getting REALLY loud. ::SMACK:: - someone hit someone. L is screaming & eventually runs out of the apartment, demanding that the two boys go in & "get her shit" [which, there's a lot of since she's been basically living here for days]. Obvi, since L's mom was "loaning" Roomie the money for rent, she's not going to have it. Further more, since the blowout, Roomie doesn't "think it's a good idea" to go to work, since L works there, too. L "needs time to cool off".

Roomie asks if we can cover her. We [purposely] didn't tell her that we already did pay it. We wanted her to sweat it out a bit.

I hate when i do this, i write a post, don't get to finish it, then a few days go by & i'm not even in the same headspace that i was when i wrote the still unpublished post.

I'm going to post this (obvi, since you're reading it) anyway.

I'll add:

- Roomie has since been "turning over a new leaf". She's rarely getting stoned, starting to work at a new club, not having people (accept for her one friend who is drama free) over, helping around the house & being very open about her making changes.

- I dropped a soda can tab into the drain with the disposal, reached in to get it & grabbed a handful of broken glass, slicing my fingers. I was NOT happy. Not wanting to have the maintenance guys come back for a 6th time, or whatever, in a week or two for the kitchen sink, i carefully put on a rubber glove today & fished the remaining shards out. I hope i got them all.

- I'm reading a book called "Love Sick" - it's kinda confusing me...

I'll tell you one thing, if Bazinga doesn't get his butt off the couch & go to the grocery store to buy food for dinner, i'm gunna crack!

on the plus side, i've been really enjoying cooking yum dinners & occasionally baking. I'll post some recipes sometime soon.

A while back, i had this idea for something called the "Duck Pond"... but, like 80-90% of my schemes/plots/ideas... it was a F-L-O-P!
so, i'm starting the same TYPE of idea, but with a different basic perspective...

i want the "theme" to focus on answering one specific question at a time, with input from readers, experts (if i can find them), friends (both chickies & duckies) &, MAYBE even Boyf Bazinga! (although, most of the questions will most likely be posed by me, so i'm not sure he'll have much to say on the topics!!!)

I've been with Bazinga Boyf for about 7 months now, & Christmas is around the corner. I'm not the typical "BUY ME SHIT" type of girl, but i wouldn't mind something glitzy to admire over Christmas dinner. BUT, how do i let him know what type of bling i like, without being TOO in your face about it?
Do i just say "hey, so you know, i like this, i don't like that.", do i take a catalog & circle/cross off the things i luv/hate? do i give up & just hope that he gets it right & then say i luv whatever he gets me (aka just be happy that he got me anything?).

Obvi I haven't been posting much. I hate that i haven't, but i've been doing so much other stuff, trying to make some money & trying to stay sane...

you all know about my etsy shop, Twitterpated Pretty that i've been working my bum off trying to keep up with...

i've also, thankfully, been painting. All my paintings are available online as prints, postcards, etc. on my RedBubble page!

Well, i follow the twitter & i've LOLed at the book at Borders (i haven't watched the show..) & it made me think, there should be one of these for the silly things that my boyf, Bazinga, says. So, other than those projects, i've been searching for [legit] work, being dragged through interview processes for bullshit "sales" positions (aka 100% commission jobs where they want me to go door to door selling... i dunno... vacuums?), TRYING to keep this DAMN apartment clean, which is beyond frustrating given the fact that i have a SLOB for a roomie who i don't think has ever once cleaned anything in our apartment, like at all.
She can be entertaining, but the novelty is rapidly wearing off...

When i'm not doing any of that, i'm trying to be a good girlfriend, learning the finer details of Football from Professor/Coach Bazinga, watching more football in past 2 months that i think i ever have in my life (even though i've always been a football fan, i've never watched EVERY GAME EVERY WEEK! PRO & COLLEGE) - but i don't mind.

I've been cooking every night, baking often, trying not to gain all the weight back & juggling bills bills bills!!!

i wonder how Bazinga would feel about me getting a sugar daddy...?

i can't believe i'm taking the time to blog right now!!!

i'm rushing around trying to clean the apartment, get pretty & make a dinner before the boyf gets home in an hour!!! BUT i was in desperate need of a smoke & some fresh air (between candles, curling iron & the oven, it was getting a bit hot!!!)
so, i thought, on my mini break, i'd check in with you all.

on the menu: baked chicken breast, broc, rice & home-made chicken gravy!

on the bod [mom, if you're reading, skip this part...]: a sexy black lace [sooo soft] teddy/nighty with hot pink knickers & bra! lots of glitzy jewels... since i never have any reason to wear them...

gifties: i only had a bit of money, but i bought some household stuff that we needed, including a little bookshelf he's been wanting. i also got a super cute card with a red glitter chili pepper that says "i'm hot for you". hahah.

big deal: ya, it's been 6 months.. it seems like its been 6 years... but this is a very odd relationship when it comes to milestones & order... we've been dating for 6 months, living together for 3 & tonight, i think i'm gunna drop the "L" bomb! eek!

well, i've got about 45 mins to get sexy, cook gravy & pick out mood music!!!

I've been wanting to celebrate the Day of the Dead [Dia de los Muertos] for years, but i never ended up being able to. I'm going to celebrate this year, pay homage to the friends & family that i've lost in my life.

I'm working on my skulls for both Halloween & DotD.

i've developed an obsession with catalogs...

in the last few days, i've subscribed to probably 50+ catalogs...

i think it's because i desperately want mail... & because i'm too poor to buy magazines...

i've found myself requesting catalogs from the staple Vickie's [victoriasecret.com] to Wine Country Gift Baskets [winecountrygiftbaskets.com].
(When the wine one came, Bazinga said "wine gifts? seriously?" then we sat looking at it for a good 15 mins, hahahha)

i obviously don't have money to actually BUY much of anything from these catalogs, but it's fun to browse.

I think that one of my favs has always been Uncommon Goods [uncommongoods.com].

I am finally starting to feel at home in this new state now that we are moved into our NEW APARTMENT!!!

i'm so in luv with our new place & i can't wait to decorate it, make it our own, take a million photos & show all of you!

the "plastic bag" feeling.

sometimes i feel like a broken soul...
like, my heart has holes in it, & with a passing movement of something beautiful, the hole is filled, just for a fleeting second, & when that happens, the blood in my veins is velvet.
its an instant. i'm in over my head before i have a chance to stop myself. i'll quake, i'll sob, goose-bumps, tears.
I can't explain it. it could be anything. Its happened all my life. Its happened at museums, during movies, sometimes i'm lucky enough to be alone, sometimes i'm surrounded by people.

i can't always pin point its meaning until it's over, & sometimes not even then.

was it sorrow? love? pain? utter joy?

it just happened to me. I was just sitting, alone in my room, eating guacamole & watching that new ABC Family show, HUGE. [the show is about a Fat camp, starring Nikki Blonsky from Hairspray & David Hasslehoff's daughter, Hayley]
The premise of the episode was Talent Night at the camp. Ian, friend to tough chick Will(imina), played by Blonsky, had found her journal, not knowing it was hers & was extremely inspired by a poem he read inside. He wrote this song, using bits of the poem.

this might sound silly, but it was so beautiful, i kinda lost my shit. All of a sudden, i'm sitting here, guac tortilla in hand, ear budz in my ears, tears streaming down my face.

the lyrics are:

book six: Violet & Claire

six down & nine to go to reach my "expert" level reading goal!

part of me feels like i'm cheating a bit because these books aren't all really at the level i should be reading... (cough cough young adult section cough) & this is a book i've already read (some odd 10 years ago?), so it's more of a re-read, but, i'm counting it for now.

This is another book by Francesca Lia Block, my wonder-woman idol Queen.
Violet & Claire is such a great story written in 3 parts. First, we hear from Violet, then the story continues, but from Claire's p.o.v., then, we watched it all in bird's eye from the 3rd party perspective. the imagery is phenom & i'm really happy that i re-read it.

This is def a book i'd swap with a friend & i totes recommed it. it's a great summer read, too!

ps: some of you may have seen, in my previous posts, that this is actually book 7 for 2010, but i'd rather not get into the book i read before this one, so i'm going to keep it to myself & keep on with the count.

but, since i'm sick & feel feverish, i'm having one of my favourite sickie-face remedies.

one time, i went to a friends house when i was in serious need of somewhere other than the couch, after being sick for days & developing serious cabin fever, as well as my sickie fever. My friend picked me up, took my to his casa & fixed me a J&G. An hour later, i felt great! The next day, my fever broke & i was on the way to recovery. Who knows if it was just timing, the cold meds, or the remedy of Mr. Daniels & Ms. Ale.

Bazinga, B.Verbie & I went to see Tom Green's stand up last night at the Irvine Improv Theatre. We sat in the front section, centre & were right in his line of sight the whole time.

It was SOO funnny & we got to meet Tom while we stood in line before the show, he came up to our table a bunch of times DURING the show (kept high fiving B.Verbie) & we got to meet him & have this picture with him AFTER the show!!!

My celeb "i've met..." list has just been bumped up!

I'm bored today. Bazinga is off at training for his new job & i'm sitting here, waiting for my photo files to upload to Flikr for my portfolio. I wanted to watch some much needed tv on Hulu.com, but i can't do it on MY computer while the files load (which is taking days!) & Bazinga left his compy locked & i don't know his damn password.

Sitting here, thinking about all the shows that i want to watch that are just beyond my reach, i realized that my fav shows, recently, aren't even going to have a new episode until tonight.
All of you know that i'm a tv junkie. Since i've been in Cali, we don't have cable. I never thought i'd be able to survive without cable. I had a hard time finding something to watch on the hotel tv's with the minimal selection of 17 channels! Now, i LIVE with NO CABLE?! AHH!!! not to mention, i haven't seen General Hospital in like 3 weeks & i'm having some serious withdrawals. 3 weeks is a lifetime in soaps! Who the hell knows WHAT could be happening!? Who's died? Who's been married? Who's missing? Who'd they swap out for a different actor that is going to piss me the fuck off?!

I miss Bravo, I miss VH1, i miss ABCFamily! for fuck's sake, i miss commercials!

Pretty Little Liars

I'm in luv with this show. It's literally everything you love about One Tree Hill or Gossip Girl, but with the absolute drag-you-back-in-by-your-hair every week drama that is usually only found in Lifetime movies!

plot: 5 insanely pretty high school girls whom i think were supposed to be 14 (?!?!) in the start of the story, were all out one night in some creeptastic cabin in the woods or something & one chick goes missing. FFWD a year later & one chick comes back after a year overseas with her fam (turns out daddy had a flingy with one of his students) to find out that her tight knit little clique is no more. It doesn't take very long for the story to get going because all the girls start getting messages from the missing fifth, Allison.
Allison seems like the worst friend on the planet bc all she seems to do is taunt her friends both in these crytpic messages & in all the flashbacks we see of her with them, alive & well.
blah, blah, blah, her body is found, they go to the funeral, some blind chick, Jenna, walks in & everyone stops breathing, (episode 3 is called "the Jenna Thing") & then, dah, dah, DAH, after the funeral, they all get a text, at the same time, from "-A"!
it's awesome. i wanna watch it right now.

Personal Secret: Apparently she has a bad habit of making out with her sisters boyfs. She had a MO with Wren the current fiance & the engagement is no more! Ooops!

I can't remember her on it, but she was on an episode of Degrassi once. This is her 3rd credit on imdb. good for her!

Family Drama: She seems to want to keep opening up to her mother, but she never gets the words out right. She has a boyf who is very persistant on doing the nasty, but sweet, swimmer, Emily isn't all that into it.

Personal Secret: She likes to kiss girls! There are hints that she may have had a "closer" relationships with Allison than the others did & New Girl Maya, who moved into Allisons old house, seems to luv the idea of pushing Emily closer to her inner cravings! ("I kissed a girl & i liked it!")

i finished book #5 today!

[perk of not having a job]

The first book by Chelsea Handler, one of the funniest chick-a-dees there is.
I'm stoked to continue down the drunken stooper of her Vodka induced sexcapades with her other two books ["Are You There God, It's Me, Chelsea" & "Chelsea, Chelsea, Bang, Bang"].
This bitch is so fucking funny, i thought i'd piss my pants reading this book.
The non-fiction collection of anecdotes ["a collection of One Night Stands"] is everything to be gained from a crazy night out, minus the hangover.
I've gone from liking C. Handler, watching Chelsea Lately every once in a while & think'n she's a riot, to desperately wanting to go out for Margs with her.

I'm out w/ Bazinga for his birthday, yesterday, & after buying his bday breaky, i check my account, which i knew was low, but just wanted to make sure that we could go to GameStop, as planned, to get him a few games for a gift.

I call unemployment to try to see what the deal is because the last check i had gotten was on the 15th & i'm sitting there, penniless, on the 25th!

This whole plan of moving to Cali was all balancing on the fact that i'd have money coming in while i looked for a job in this crap economy!

---on a lighter side.. Our hometown friend B.Verb took us out for Travzinga's bday, which was SUPER sweet of him. We went to the Improv Comedy Club in Ontario, CA for dinner, drinks & to see Mike Epps.
it was awesome. We were LITERALLY in the FRONT ROW, my purse was sitting ON STAGE! I was nervous that we were going to get ragged on during the act, but maybe we just aren't funny looking? Yes, it's a love story. Yes, it's become a dirty word in the language of men, i'm sure, but... that being said... I feel that asking my boyf (who is the only person i know in Cali since i moved here to be with him) to go see the third movie with me in the theatre is NOT the worst that could happen.
I would never ask him to see Sex & the City with me bc, unlike many women, i don't currently, nor ever plan or want, to keep his balls in a jar... i prefer them where they are. Twilight, on the other hand, i feel COULD be tolerable! There are vampires & werewolves & fighting & blood & all that good shit! So what if it's based on true love? I ask you, what movie doesn't have a dabble of love in there, somewhere?
Kyle loves Sarah in Terminator, Rocky loves Adrianne in Rocky, even the Godfather is focused around a wedding!

So, Doc, what's the prognosis? Do i have a pump wearing leg to stand on, or should i just "take two midol & call you in the morning"?

book four: Diary

i finished book #4 a few days ago. Another book by Chuck, but, unfortunately, i think this was my least favourite of his, so far.
unlike his other books, all my questions weren't answered. I don't know how i feel about that. Sometimes i like it when there are serious Cliff Hangers, never answered, but in this case, it was just a bit annoying. It took me an embarrassingly long time to read this book, as well, bc i started right before all the craziness of moving, driving across the states twice, starting a relationship, losing a job, blah blah blah.
It's not bad, but i don't recommend it unless you're already a fan of Chuck Palahniuk, or until after you've read some of his others (see Invisible Monsters, my personal fav or Lulluby, Trav's fav).

ps: some of you may have seen, in my previous post, that this is actually book 5 for 2010, but i'd rather not get into the book i read before this one, so i'm going to keep it to myself & keep on with the count.

honestly, it's been a while since i saw the 6th movie, so i'm hoping i can keep Trav on the HP train until we watch all of them, soon, so i can have a refresher.

I'm behind on my reading [blah]. I just finished book #4, which took an embarrassingly long time to read. I'll post the "book read" post tomorrow, probably, so be on the look out for that.

I also have a few new books that i want to read, so i'm not sure if i'll jump into HP7, or stop off to read one of the others, first.

On my road trip, I listened to the classic Alice in Wonderland on CD & started a great book [audio book] called

"The Summer We Read Gatsby"

it's fantastic, but, while i was on the last stretch, going into the Mojave Desert, i went to put in CD #5 to realize that the damn thing didn't burn & i was stuck halfway thru the story!!!

I'm hoping that my mother can e-mail me the rest of it, since she's the one that downloaded it on her computer, so i can finish it. it really is wonderful. I highly recommend it. it's a great summer story about 2 half sisters in their early 30's, late 20's, who inherit a house ["Fool's House" luv that name] in The Hamptons.

I actually read another book, the real book #4, but the subject matter is a bit intense, so i'd rather not share about it. Even tho the listed book #4 is actually #5 for the year, i'm still behind schedule if i'd like to be reading a book a month. :(

We will see, i may take a pause from intricate reading to follow Chelsea Handler thru "Are You There Vodka, It's Me, Chealsea", which i've been meaning to read for years.

The last time i came to visit, Trav & I searched the internet for apartments & rooms for rent.

After we looked at 3 nice apartments that we wanted, but couldn't afford... we ended up with a pretty promising Room for Rent, in the SAME complex that we'd been staying in, with our friend Alan & his room mate, Chad - [The Parkwood].

We went to look at it & it was a nice, basically empty [the roomies had only been here for about a month] 2 bedroom, 1 bath [ugh.] apartment with a nice, sunny, clean room with a full wall of mirrored closets.

the roomies were #1 [chick], #2 [bro] & pup [Graves].

Trav moved into the room on June 1, with me to follow soon after. While i was home, packing up all my shit & getting ready to leave to drive across the states to move in, i find out...

There was a fight.
Graves is not trained, BEYOND not trained, he pisses all over the rug & it is now ruined, smelly, stained, awful. gross.
Chick & Bro apparently scrapped & he hit her [?!?!?!], so HE moved out & may end up behind bars for the assault. [awesome...]. So, naturally, we need a new roomie.
Chick invited a friend of hers to live with us, dorm style in her room.
new roomie is a "dancer". She's 19 & rarely here. She's a smoker, which kinda makes me happy, bc i'm not the only one, but she has weird hours & it is very evidant that she's 19.
i don't know how i feel about the fact that she's 19. it kinda makes me nervous bc if she has a party or something & the cops come, there's booze & Trav & i are here, are WE fucked bc we're old enough to have booze?! Oiy!

In the tradition of Spanky's nicknames:
Chick will now be Jane for Jane Doe, bc she's missing, she's NEVER here.
Bro will be JB for Jail Bird. I don't know if i'll be writing about him, i hope not, bc if i do, that means he prob showed up & that's not good.
New-Roomie will be Kandy. I hope that's not mean, but her real name starts with a K & she's a dancer, so... [i hope that's not mean].
Graves is, unfortunately, his real name.

Since i've been here, i've seen Jane a few times, Kandy twice, JB never & Graves CONSTANTLY.

Saturday, i spent cleaning as best i can without any cleaning solution, vacuuming the common area, walking the dog, feeding the dog, WASHING the trash can bc it was nasty (turns out, when Graves poops on the floor, Jane picks it up & THROWS IT IN THE TRASH!? EW! FLUSH IT!!!!!!!!!!), emptying & reloading the dish washer & unpacking as much as i could.
Then i set up the lamp & set up the TV & DVD player. [we have no cable... anyone that knows me or has read a few posts, probably knows that i'm a TV ADDICT! ugh.]

It's been good, overall, but we're gunna have to get some things, soon.

I'm making a list of the things we need so i can organize my life have something organized! haha

It's day 2 of living out of my parents house & living with Trav. It also happens to be our 3 month anniversary. We should be wild & crazy kids, getting shit-faced, living it up, bang'n like rabbits... instead, we've been taking care of the room-mates dog (Graves...), cleaning the apartment, grocery shopping & watching Seinfeld & twilight on DVD (i guess Trav's 3 month anniversary gift to me is actually pretending to care about Twilight..? kinda sweet of him, actually).
I'm having a cigg & listening to people down the way screaming & obvi having a drunken blasty.

We were invited to a bar on the beach for drinks, but we couldn't go bc we are BROKE.

We only got to go grocery shopping bc i hounded my mother to give me some of the cash she owes me. ugh. :(

this is a short entry bc i wanna get back before trav decides that Twilight sucks & before the dog gets a chance to shit on the carpet AGAIN. (i've lived here for 2.5 days now & i've cleaned up the dogs crap 3 times... roommate #1 just came home for about half a nano-second, i told her that HER dog shat on the rug, so... naturally, she picks it up & THROWS IT IN THE TRASH CAN!?!?!?! EW! FLUSH THAT SHIT, BITCH!)

last night on the road

Well, i couldn't write last night because the damn [&, overly advertised] "FREE Wi-Fi" in last nights hotel, wasn't working, UGH.

last night, i was in Albuquerque, NM.

What else happened yesterday... hm... well... i woke up in Oklahoma, left Kaylee with a sad face for both of us & hit the road. On the way, I...

saw, what i swear was the beginnings of a Tornado!!!

then, while, i was hoping to get the fuck away from the 'nado asap... my gas light went on!!! So, i stopped at the next exit & found myself surrounded by desolate creep-town, with abandoned motels & a few non-working gas stations. Lucking, i found a working one, but was thruoughly freked when i got out to pump gas & heard crows. i looked around & it was like i was in a fuck'n Hitchcock film.
[ok... so maybe i'm exagerating a littttle bit...]
the Raven's creepn around me squak'n "nevermore", stole the words right out of my mouth. nevermore!!!! that place was terrrrifying! hahah BUT, i was on the road again soon, on my way.

I got to Albuqurque, got lost, got off exit 158, missed my turn, well actually, just took my turn too early, so i ended up getting BACK on the damn highway, GPS took my to the next exit (159), but then put me BACK on the highway, where i got off the OTHER wrong exit (157) & did the whole thing again, but the other way. Needless to say, by the time i got to the hotel, i was annoyed & SO FUCKING HOT i was ready to kill someone for a nice ice cold red bull, which i'd run out of.

I get into the Quality Inn & ask the [very nice] guy at the front desk if he had an available single smoking room.

"i'm sorry, but we are all booked in our single smoking rooms."

FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

"Do you have ANY smoking rooms?"
[i know, you may be thinking "what's the big deal, just get a regular non-smoking room"... well... when you're a smoker & you drive across the damn states & it's hot as fuck outside & you don't know the area... you want to be able to smoke without going out into the blazing & somewhat scary parking lot!!! so, no, a non-smoking room just won't do.]

Finally, he says "actually, i have one double smoking room, but we weren't having anyone stay in it bc the last guy smoked a lot of weed in it & it stinks"...

You have a GOOD day!" - so, i put the sandwich away & PEACED OUT!

Now, i'm in my hotel, watching TLC when i should be taking the bath i ran like an hour ago (but "Toddlers in Tiaras" is just so wonderfully awful & how can you NOT watch "I didn't know i was Preggers"?!)

I'm glad i got to update everyone on my crazy last two days.

Tomorrow, i have 7 hours to go until i'm in my new home. i'm scared, but i'm excited. i hope Trav's mood improves though, bc he's been sunburnt, bored & cranky. He's constantly updating me on the horrors of our new place & new roomies... awesome...

I'm back on the road, head'n to Cali.

my car is all packed & i made an ok dent in the trip today. (7 hours today...)

not gunna lie, i'm a little scared. I'm alone in a hotel in PA & it's time for bed.

I'm going to do my best to update you along the way, but given that i'm on this journey alone, i'm pretty burned out at the end of the day.

Saying bye to my family has been really rough.

i had sushi with lil sis (Em Butthead) last night after my wonderful hour long "de-stress" massage & steam showed (um, can we say "heaven"?!). This morning, my Pops had to go to work, so i had to say goodbye while i was still groggy eyed. I've been an emotional wreck & started bawling first thing in the morning. Good way to start a stressful day, eh?
I'm gunna miss him something awful. :(

My Ma was so sweet, she helped me pack the rest of the insane amount of my life into the Versa, looked up hotels for me on the way (ever after the multiple times i told her that she really didn't need to do that bc i wasn't going to know where to stop until i was ready to stop...), & even gave me a family heirloom, a beautiful Opal ring that had belonged to her g'ma. it's gorgeous, huh?

i lost my shit completely when i gave my last squeeze & kissies to that dog, my little adorable Peanut-Face McDoggie, Holly. I can't help but feel so guilty about leaving her. People understand why you leave, pups don't. She'll be sad & confused & it makes me SO sad to think about it. :(

Well, after eating last resort Domino's for dinner, i'm feeling a little vom-tastic, so i'm going to head toward some, hopefully, sweet dreams.

I flew to Cali on Wednesday, May 19th, to find a place for Trav & I to live.

I've been here a few days & in that time, we saw three awesome apartments that we can't afford & a room for rent that we can... that was fucking awful... in a tiny ass place with a married couple... & their screaming 1 year old.... in a shitty naighbourhood... in a crappy area.... kinda close to Compton... NO THANK YOU!

Then, we saw some more shitty complexes in relatively terrifying areas... then we saw two other really nice ones, that we can't afford....
sound frustrating? ya...

exhausted, tired, & on the verge of tears, we came back to the apartment we've been crashing at, to find a Craigs list listing of a room for rent in the SAME COMPLEX!!!

This morning, we walked the 20 seconds to the other apartment to be greated by a nice guy (matt?), his girlfriend Jennifer & an adorable 3 month old Huskey pup (Grays? Graves? i'll get it eventually).
The room is sunny, big enough for us, with a mirrored wall of closets (holla). $700/month (split between the two of us, $350) with an additional $30 utilities. (cable & internet will probably take it to MAYBE $75?

I'm happy to announce that, on the first of June, Travis will be packing up his things & moving over to the new place. I'll be back on the road again (eek!) on June 4th & will be driving across the states again... (double eek!) ALONE (EEEEKKK!!!) to join him, in our new place, by June 10th.

I'm freaking out.

honestly, i'm scared. i'm really, really, really, scared.
What if he & i don't get along? What if i can't find a job? What if i don't make any friends? What if i hate everything? What am i going to do without my girls? I'll miss AmeCakes & JenBunny so much it'll kill me.

No, i have to embrace this new life. I have to make moves, literally, & take it as it comes.
I just hope that we aren't making a mistake. This is completely the wrong way to move in with someone, i know, WE know that. I don't want to suffocate him, but i don't want to feel isolated, either. I'm scared that we were so caught up in the whirl-wind of us even getting together, that we rushed it.

i do know one thing. i can't wait to be done stressing, done packing, done thinking about what i need to do next. i can't wait to get SOMEWHERE & just... BE.
I want to get back into a routine. i want to be able to find a job, that i actually like, write on my beluved & missed bloggy.

i can't wait to get back to my own little reality. I miss you all so much. i have no idea what's been going on with anyone & it makes me feel awful!

i can't wait to tell you all about everything. maybe i should do a time line post to just get the basic facts about my drive & what's been going on?

-went to P.F. Changs. Had amazing Crab Wontons. I'm a fan.
-went to the Cheesecake Factory. Had phenom "Crispy Artichoke Hearts" with a Lemon-Garlic dipping sauce, edamame, "Bistro Shrimp Pasta" [Crispy Battered Shrimp, Fresh Mushrooms, Tomato and Arugula Tossed with Spaghettini and a Basil-Garlic-Lemon Cream Sauce.] & "Wild Blueberry White Chocolate Cheesecake", all washed down with Strawberry Martini [made with Pearl Vodka infused fresh Strawberries..]...

i know... right? holy SHIT.

-Saw "Date Night" with Steve Carrell & Tina Fey. laughed my pants off!
-Went in the hot tub last night w/ Bazinga-face. it was too hot, but i liked it.
-Watched "The Men Who Stare at Goats". awesome. just freak'n awesome movie. i really wanna watch it with my dad before i leave home. he'll luv it.

how is it possible that there is so much to do?

i've been sitting on my ass for days (with the exception of going to Bamboozle on Sunday with AmeCakes), on the computer, listing things for sale, e-mailing with potential buyers (selling my beloved Cabrio), comparing prices, looking for apartments, looking for jobs, looking for my mind!

my nails keep breaking: sign of stress.
the ones that don't break are peeling, which means, i bite them. ugh.

what do i do? i have no money, but all i want to do is get on a plane & fly to Cali to see him.

he's become my muse. He tells me i'm his. We write about eachother. it's very Old School. i feel like a couple in courtship. it's cute. we're silly. we're inspired.

If you've been reading Spanky luvs it for a while, you'll probably know (or at least be able to guess) that i'm a pretty big fan of Brett Michaels.

If you use watch entertainment news, or even regular news, you probably know that B. Michaels suffered a brain hemorage after an emergency appendectomy on April 12th & has been in the ICU for a while. While in the ICU, he has also been treated for hyponatremia, a sodium deficiency that can cause seizures.

[eek! poor brett!!!]

His reps are saying (as of the most recent news update, from 3 hours ago) that things are looking up & it looks like he'll be able to rock again, sooner than expected!!!

my thoughts are with him. I hope that he can battle this, just as he has battled everything else!
... being diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the age of 6, being the frontman of rock'n hair band, Poison, making a stellar comeback as a reality TV star, failing to find love on not one, not two, but THREE dating shows, and working for Donald Trump!!!

i'm here. i've been home, i've been lost (like usual), but i have high hopes that, with the recent free time, i may actually be able to plan a route to a better *me*.

Since i've been back, i've had to deal with a LOT of life's red tape. I've since, filed for unemployment, but won't know what the outcome is until i have my hearing (da da daaaa) on may 10th.
not gunna lie, i'm a littler terrified, bc i have no idea what to do if i don't get approved & i have no idea if i will get approved or not, since i was fired for breaking "company policy"

Has anyone reading this ever had to deal with filing for unemployment? advice?

i feel just awful that i haven't written in so long. i feel like this blog has become a best friend of sorts, & with that, my whopping 107 reader (!!!) are as well. I guess that makes me a pretty selfish & shitty friend, huh... :(

I'm also so sorry that i haven't been making the rounds to see how you have all been. i haven't read a single blog in SO long. God damn LIFE just keeps getting in the way of my means of escape!

i've been trying to get myself back on track, plotting the "rest spots", the important necessities & the tourist attractions.
[ya, i know, ever since the road trip, i'm on a bit of a "on the road" metaphor kick. haha. should just be a passing phase...]

it also doesn't help that my DAMN COMPUTER has been driving me up a WALL!
(does anyone else have a Dell Mini?) i luv the idea of it, but, one of the things i read about when i bought it was that the mouse pad thinger is awful & god damn that is SO true. i HATE it!!! But, like any laptop, it's not usually easy to have a mouse hooked up to it, bc then you need a mouse pad & a flat surface & blah blah blah, it's annoying.
but, because it's so stupid, it is unreal how difficult it is to highlight words in my text. i try to highlight one word & the damn thing jumps all around & selects other words or moves the highlighted text to another spot or some crap & UGH it makes me want to SCREAM!!!
that's why this post is written in such a boring way, rather than my usual overly annimated BIG words, different fonts, colours, yadda, yadda, yadda.

So, my hurdles, or "speed bumps" so far have been:

-filing unemployment.
-running out of money.
-medical insurance expiring at the end of the month.
   -get glasses [check!]
   -go to gyno for bc
   -go to dentist for filling & to have my gums looked at, AGAIN!
   -how will i afford my 'script without medical insurance?!
   -acupuncture?
-having to move out of my parents house (blessing, but still stressful & annoying).
   -MOVING TO CALIFORNIA!!!
   -driving across the country again in a few months so i'll have my car in Cali?! eek.
-deciding if i'll have to find another job for the time being to make money to be ABLE to move.
-saying goodbye to my friends & family. :(
-organizing all my shit.
   -how the hell do i get 23 years worth of life from CT to CA!?
-figuring out how to use this free time to my advantage, & how to better myself with it.
    -aka how do i do these things when i don't have the money to spend on them?
-trying to get fit.
   -FINALLY made my weight goal. i've OFFICIALLY lost 50 pounds since February of 2009!
   -Yes, i'm very proud & very happy, but being a smaller jean size does NOT mean that your in shape. this butt is NOT cute & it needs to be.

&, most of all...

-missing the HELL out of Trav "Bazinga". It's only been a little over a week & i can't stand not seeing him every day. Especially after spending 11 days solid with him. Sure, we can get on eachothers nerves, but, HELLO, try spending 24 hours a day with ONE person for 11 days & NOT getting a little annoyed at them. We didn't fight ONCE though!

hello my pets...

i've missed you so. i'm currently sitting in a smoking lounge (holla) in the Salt Lake City, Utah airport. My flight leaves in about 30 mins, so i'm just going to have time to jot a quick "yo, homies" before i have to pack it in & head to my gate.

the trip was amazing. i've seen so much. it seemed like i was gone for months, even though it was really only 11 days. I've been through 13 states, taken hundreds of photos & spent WAY too much money.
I stayed in shitty motels, nice(r) motels, ate crappy food, ate good food, saw dessert, caverns, cities, & lots LOTS of highway.
Trav (Bazinga) & I did NOT kill eachother, contrary to popular belief. We didn't even fight! (bickering, arguing, disagreeing & annoying not included). I saw my NaNa Kaylee-Bear, met her BFer Chas & A Werner (a friend since middle school & Bazingas new roomie) as well as Chad (other new roomie & A Werners friend from collage).

well, i have to go over to my gate now.

i promise, i'll be able to update you all soon.

all i can say right now is, i'm ok, i'm in OK (haha), i'm head'n the rest of the way to Cali, i have a lot to tell you all & my fortune cookie tonight said:

"adventure is worthwhile, in itself."

a few things i've learned, on the road, so far:
-blueberry anything is delicious [blueberry smoothies or FroYo is always a good choice.]
-i have a serious problem with buying souvenir t-shirts in gift shops
-Zoos, Children's museums & anything of the like are hella fun, even for two grown-ups.
-Friends aren't necessarily those you always see, but those who always, truly SEE you.

-My tum does not agree with road-trips. i've been feeling vommy for days. [boo...]

HELL EXPLAINED BY CHEMISTRY STUDENT

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid term.

The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell,then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my God.'

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED AN A+.

i finished book #3 a while ago, but, as you all know, i haven't had much time to write anything or update you.
i hate that i barely have time to talk about this book, but here are the basics.
it's written by my idol, my word goddess, Francesca Lia Block, who wrote my favourite, amazing, life changing book, Weetzie Bat, which you've all read my gush about a ton.
This is a collection of poems to fans, friends, inspiring angels, FLB's children & even herself.
it's a great book to have, but i suggest having it, keeping it on your bed side table, & dipping in to read a piece or two when you need something beautiful in your brain.

the night before i posted the Foto Friday, saying that i was no longer going to Vermont to see Hoss, my BFF [well, i thought he was my BFF], dropped an "F" & made the slick move to

"BF".

it's a bittersweet story, because as you may have read, he's moving to California on April 9th. -i'll be road tripping with Bazinga, on his drive/move to Cali. I'll be going as far as Oklahoma [stop me if you've heard this one before] & then... he's off. 3,000 miles away.

i seriously do not know what the hell i'm going to do.

it may get pretty blue in these parts for a while, luvrs.

but,

now is not the time to think about it!

Well, funny story. Trav is one of the only other people i've ever met that also watches the hilarious show, The Big Bang Theory [watch it, luvs it.]. One of the main characters, Sheldon (played by Jim Parsons, as luvd in Garden State.) & Sheldon's favourite "in your face" word is "Bazinga!" - which, like any annoying friends/couple, we like to say... often.

well, that's basically my *big news*. i'm so sorry that i've drifted off to a land of non-blogging. I'm trying, as best i can, to soak up all the time i can with him.
i'm torn, about this, because i feel myself getting more & more & more attached, every damn day. Plus... people such as "She Who Shall Not Be Named" & others aren't too thrilled with us coupling up

even She Who...'s boyf, who's [supposedly] Bazinga's best friend, chucked my bag on the bar floor "so it didn't get wet from the spilled booze" [ahem... ya, ok....] & then found great entertainment in chucking peanuts at me.... because, y'know, he's awfully mature...
but i'm nervous that i'm going to be a reason why some of his friends, who don't care for me anymore (due, mainly to She Who...) are going to end up avoiding him, because he's always with me.
i've told him that i think it's really important for him to make some time to hang out w/ other friends, without me around, before he leaves. he doesn't seem to agree.

We went to NYC on Saturday, to see AmeCakes & to meet up with his cousins. After a shit-tastic night at the local bar the night before [haters be damned!] it was really nice to have the company of people who were "Pro-Bazanky" [pahhh!!!!] rather than so, unrealistically anti.
